51ÎÛÂþ offers four English major options: in addition to the more traditional English major in English Literature, the English major is also avaliable with a concentration in Creative Writing, Drama, or Writing and Rhetoric. 51ÎÛÂþ also offers honours programs in both English and Creative Writing, an English minor and extended minor, a Creative Writing minor and extended minor, and an Extended Studies in Arts certificate.

English major, extended minor, and minor students, or students planning to enter a teacher education program, may choose to complete the 51ÎÛÂþ Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) certificate program simultaneously with, or upon completion of, their major or minor.
