Biography

Dr. Carl Nienhuis has been part of the 51 community in a variety of roles, beginning as a student-athlete, then serving as a coach, sessional instructor, limited-term faculty member, and now as an Associate Professor in the School of Kinesiology.

 

Alongside his academic role, he works as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) specializing in sport and exercise psychology. In this capacity, he has supported performers at local, regional, provincial, and national levels for nearly 20 years, helping individuals and teams strengthen mental skills, navigate challenges, and pursue both performance and well-being.
