Sign up with a group of friends, with one person designated as the Team Captain and another as the Secondary Team Captain.

• Team Captains are responsible for filling out and submitting the team roster using the online 
• Each member of the team must . This can be done or in person at the Client Service Desk (E150). 
• Team Captain and secondary Captain must read Campus Recreation Rules and Regulations Handbook. 

Registration deadline for team rosters and for each teammate to pay the registration fee is January 16 @ 6:00pm. After this date the price will increase by $10.00.

"Free Agents” are Individuals who register on their own. Depending on the number of Free Agents who register, they may be assigned to a team that needs more players or placed on a team made up of all Free Agents.

• . This can be done  or in person at the Client Service Desk (E150). You will be prompted to indicate if you are a free agent at time of registration. 
• Complete mandatory Online Team Captain Quiz (this will be emailed to you).
• You will be emailed your team roster the weekend before the first day of leagues (Which will start the week of September 22, 2025)

Want to play on the same team as a friend? No problem! There is a section in on the Free Agent registration form to list the friends you want to team up with.

Don't have enough for a full team? Email campusrec@ufv.ca to let us know how many people you have and we will direct you on the best way to register, based on the number of people you have.

League Structure: Competitive and Recreational

Volleyball Intramural League is divided into competitive and recreational, to better accommodate varying skill levels (see below for details).

Team Placement Process:

• During registration, teams will self-assess their skill level and register in their category of choice.
• On January 20, exhibition style game play will be organized and Recreation Staff will observe these games and teams will be assigned a category.
• During this time, Free Agents will also be observed and teams will be made. If you have a friend you'd like to play with, please include their name on the registration form.

Categories descriptions:

Competitive
This category is designed for players with volleyball experience and a solid understanding of the game's fundamentals. Expect hard hitting from one to three players per team, with occasional back-row attacks. Most participants serve overhand, and games typically showcases accurate passes and organized offensive plays. Blocking is common, though it may not always involve a solid double block. Teams usually make three contacts before sending the ball back over the net, maintaining a structured and competitive level of play.

Recreational
This category is ideal for those who are new to the sport and those with some experience playing volleyball at a recreational level. Players can expect a hit in approximately one out of every three rallies. Teams in this division prioritize a "fun-first" approach, emphasizing enjoyment in every game.

Why This Approach?
Due to the growing popularity of the Volleyball Intramural League, this system ensures a fair and enjoyable experience for all participants. By balancing teams across divisions, we aim to create an inclusive and competitive environment that meets the needs of players of all skill levels.

Introducing the Intramural (IM) Drop-In Pass
This pass is available exclusively to participants registered in one of our Intramural (IM) leagues. Designed for those who prefer not to commit to the full Peak Pass Membership. The "IM Drop-In Pass" can be purchased during league registration or at a later date. It provides intramural league participants access to organized drop-in sessions for Volleyball and Futsal and is valid for the semester in which you are registered for a league. It does not provided access to the Summit Fitness Centre.

The purpose of the rec sports at 51污漫 is for participants to enjoy a fun, safe and fair playing environment, while promoting healthy lifestyle options and social engagement. By voluntarily participating in Campus Recreation sports, activities and events, ALL participants agree to the following code of conduct:  

• Before every game, all participants must check-in at the front desk or with the Sport Organizer with their 51污漫 Campus Card and insure they have their name on the game sheet. There will be NO exceptions.
• Demonstrating self-control and proper conduct is required at all times.
• Respect toward one another and fair play are expected at all times. Disrespectful conduct or other specified yet inappropriate behaviour during the Campus Recreation activities will not be tolerated, and such actions will be handled by the Recreation Program Coordinator immediately. This includes, but not limited to:
  • any act of physical assault, verbal assaults, threats and attempts to intimidate;
  • throwing of articles in a deliberate or aggressive manner, aggressively approaching another individual, or striking another individual;
  • attempting to prod or incite violence in others in or around the facility.
• To treat the facilities and equipment with care and respect in a manner that ensures their maintenance is kept and use is preserved.
• Participants under the influence of alcohol or drugs are prohibited to participate in any recreational activity or have access to recreational facilities on the campus.

Those demonstrating inappropriate behaviour or language will be denied entry or be asked to leave. Their membership may also be cancelled and banned from the facility.
