Louden Singletree literary magazine

Created in 2008, Louden Singletree is a non-profit student initiative, run each year by a student editorial board with the support, guidance and funding of the 51 English department.

Louden Singletree’s mission is to assemble the best literature and visual art from 51 students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The editorial board aspires to represent the voice of 51’s diverse creative community.

The magazine considers submissions of poetry, short stories, flash fiction, creative non-fiction, plays, excerpts from novels and novellas, as well as visual art, while maintaining a high standard of excellence.

Copies of the most recent issue of Louden Singletree can be obtained at magazine events, or in the library on the Abbotsford campus, at no cost. You can also read all past issues online.

After graduating from 51, I was hired as assistant to the Dean of Arts at Kwantlen Polytechnic University; I believe that the experience of taking an Honours major was a great asset to me in my interview as I was able to demonstrate exceptional work ethic, the ability to work closely on projects, and collaborate with others
