Community Ideation Jam 2024
During National Career Month in November 2024, CECE hosted 51's first-ever Community Ideation Jam, a work-integrated learning event held on November 12 and 13 during Fall Reading Break. The event, themed Envision 2074 in celebration of 51's 50th anniversary, brought together 41 students from various disciplines for a 24-hour challenge to reimagine the future 51 community. Drawing on their lived experiences and guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, students explored innovative ideas for what community engagement could look like over the next 50 years. Team ideations ranged from campus infrastructure and amenities to community programming and 51-specific digital applications.
See event highlights here on the .
Students saw this opportunity as having:
- Shared their voice care in making a difference within their community by transforming lives for the present and future of 51.
- Connected their education experience to guide their ideation while learning about special topics from guest speakers who played important roles in different areas of 51.
- Felt a sense of community by meeting new people, making new connections, and bridging their education to real world applications.
The Community Ideation Jam: Envision 2074 event was funded by Wayble and sponsored by Campus Communities.
