Xwelítem Siyáya: Allyship and Reconciliation Building is a collaborative learning initiative led by the 51污漫's Peace and Reconciliation Centre (PARC) and , in partnership with the , Stó:l艒 Tribal Council, Stó:l艒 Research and Resource Management Centre, and Stó:l艒 Grand Chief's Council. Since 2023, hundreds of Indigenous and non-Indigenous participants have taken part in the program, exploring Indigenous–settler histories, relationships, responsibilities, and reconciliation through teachings from Stó:l艒 Knowledge Keepers, educators, and community leaders. The program builds participants' capacity for authentic allyship and meaningful reconciliation in the Fraser Valley and beyond.

Building on three years of participant feedback and community partnerships, Xwelítem Siyáya is evolving in Fall 2026 into a more flexible learning model while continuing its commitment to relational, place-based education.

Program streams

The program now offers two interconnected learning streams:

• Foundations introduces participants to the shared histories, perspectives, and responsibilities that shape Indigenous–settler relations.
• Expanded Learnings offers advanced, stand-alone opportunities for participants to deepen their understanding through continued learning and practical application.

Together, these streams support participants in moving from shared learning and reflection toward meaningful engagement and action.

Reconciliation as an Ongoing Practice

Xwelítem Siyáya is grounded in the understanding that reconciliation is not a single workshop, module, or moment of awareness. It is an ongoing practice of learning, listening, relationship-building, reflection, and action.

The program’s new structure is intentionally designed to support participants at different stages of that journey. Foundations provides a shared grounding in Indigenous–settler histories, responsibilities, and relationships rooted in Stó:l艒 Téméxw. Expanded Learnings invites participants who have established that foundation to continue engaging more deeply through focused, action-oriented learning opportunities.

Developed in partnership with Stó:l艒 organizations and guided by local Elders, Knowledge Keepers, educators, and community leaders, Xwelítem Siyáya aims to create meaningful spaces where participants can learn with humility, strengthen relationships, and consider how they carry their responsibilities forward in their personal, professional, and community lives.
