What is the role of the Human Research Ethics Board at 51?
The HREB is responsible for and has the authority to approve, reject, propose modifications to, or terminate all proposed or ongoing research involving humans within the institution’s jurisdiction based on the ethical considerations as set forth in the 51's research ethics policy.
The Human Research Ethics Board (HREB) works to protect researchers and research participants. By providing guidance and feedback to researchers on their proposals and methodology, the HREB aims to ensure 51 research will meet the highest ethical standards. The HREB also serves the 51 research community as a consultative body by contributing to the education of research ethics.
