History
Made possible by a generous endowment from Gladys and Harvey Kipp, the Gladys and Harvey Kipp Research Lab first opened in 2009. The Kipps were long-time residents of Chilliwack, where they worked as manager and postmaster for Canada Post for many decades. Their commitment to the community and philanthropic spirit continued after they retired, and included their final gift to UFV in 2009.
A group of faculty members envisioned the lab space. In particular, Kevin Busswood and Elizabeth Dennis conceptualized a dedicated research space and tools to promote social research at 51 for the benefit of the wider community.
