Respect in the Workplace & Harassment Prevention

Creating a respectful, safe, and inclusive workplace is a shared responsibility across our 51 community. This month’s wellness campaign focuses on building awareness, strengthening respectful practices, and preventing harassment in all its forms.

Through simple, practical resources and ongoing conversation, we aim to support employees in recognizing respectful behaviours, addressing concerns early, and contributing to a positive work environment where everyone feels valued and heard.

“Did You Know?”

51 is committed to ensuring everyone in the university community has access to information about the Discrimination, Bullying, and Harassment Prevention Policy 18.

To support a positive and inclusive work environment, all employees are required to complete the "" web-based training program. This training is part of 51's dedication to fostering a supportive environment for work, teaching, scholarship, and research, based on mutual respect, cooperation, and understanding.

We will also highlight campus supports available to all employees, including Human Resources and Respectful Workplace contacts, the Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP), and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion resources. These supports are here to provide guidance, assistance, and a safe space to seek help when needed.

Together, we can foster a culture of respect, accountability, and care—ensuring a healthier and more supportive workplace for all.
