Retirees' Association

Governance

The 51 Retirees’ Association is supported by the university and governed by a set of bylaws. The Association is guided by an elected board consisting of a minimum of seven and a maximum of eight directors, and includes the following positions:

  • President
  • Past-President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Directors at Large

Board volunteers may also be appointed at the discretion of the board.

To be eligible to serve, board members must be active members of the 51RA. Following initial terms, Directors (excluding the Past President) are elected in staggered two-year terms at an Annual General Meeting.

Constitution & Bylaws

51RA bylaws

The 51RA is governed by working set of bylaws. We are not incorporated as a society, so we use these bylaws as a guide. Any changes to the bylaws will be presented at the AGM.

"The 51 Retiree Association is more than a new initiative. It is a powerful expression of community. Of belonging that endures beyond a career, beyond a title, and beyond an office door. Community engagement at its core is about partnership and reciprocity. It’s about the mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources."
