The process of changemaking draws on CHASI’s expertise at finding innovative and evidence-informed solutions to challenges both large and small. Where CHASI’s model explores issues throughout our communities, changemaking allows us to laser-focus on how the university’s resources can be harnessed as a force for positive change.
Guided by the principles of empowerment, decolonization and Indigenization, sustainability, and reciprocity, changemaking at 51 encompasses a wide array of projects, initiatives, and solutions to challenges of all sizes.
CHASI’s director, Dr. Martha Dow, has the privilege of also serving as the Senior Advisor, Changemaking, to UFV’s Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic. This role allows her to bring her decades of experience at 51 and the collected efforts of CHASI’s team of students, faculty, and professionals together to support the many moving pieces of changemaking at 51.
