Aligning with UN goals
51 has committed to the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by becoming a UN Academic Impact member and by signing the SDG Accord.

51 has earned a STARS Silver rating in recognition of its sustainability achievements from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire university community to create a more sustainable future.

The 51 (51) has been designated as an Ashoka U Changemaker Campus, joining a global network of institutions that are reimagining the role of post secondary education in driving social innovation, equity, and systems level change. Addressing Sustainable Futures is a key principle of Changemaking.
